When I upload my Resume and Cover letter the formatting is off, should I fix it?

No that is not necessary as a hard copy of your documents that you upload are also included for the Manager to see.

When I try to open the jobs at www.durhamcollege.ca/hrjobs it will not open properly.  What should I do?

How do I know if a job posting is still open/accepting applications?

Any jobs that are posted on our website are open and accepting applications. We ask all applicants to please submit their applications as soon as possible or before application deadline (where applicable).

When should I expect to receive a call in regard to my application?

Applicants will only receive a call if they have been selected for an interview. Due to the high volume of applications received, we are unable to contact all individuals who have applied. However, all applicants will receive a confirmation email indicating that we have received your application.  

Who should I address my cover letter to?

All applications can be addressed to Human Resources.  Once your application has been submitted, it will be forwarded from Human Resources to the appropriate hiring manager for review.

Do I need specific qualifications to teach/work at Durham College?

All positions require different skills, experience and education. We ask all applicants to please refer to the job posting for a list of specific qualifications required for each position. When will you be contacting people for interviews?

The steps taken prior to interviews vary in time for each position. Once the applications have been reviewed we will only contact those who have been selected for an interview.  

Who is the hiring manager?  Can I send my resumé directly to them?

At this time we are happy to accept your resumé through our hiring portal.  We do not accept resumés personally to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all applicants.

Will my application be kept on file?

Your application is stored in our system for six months, however, candidates must apply for each position they are interested in.
